Hi! I'm Eric Stang. My career in athletics encompasses experience as an athlete, coach, administrator, scout and official. Having worked for the past 29 years in both amateur and professional sports, Eric Stang has coached and mentored thousands of athletes. Eric is also a published author with various articles and a book on proven evaluation and scouting techniques as well as reliable intel gathering processes. "Basketball Scouting Techniques Editions 1-3" are used by Sports Management World Wide's Professional Basketball Scout and GM course. He also holds a FIBA Coaching License and is 26 year member in good standing with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). In 2013, 2018 and 2023 he earned NABC service awards. Eric helped train and mentor 4 NBA Draft Picks and 4 NCAA Division 1 All Americans. He recruited and coached 2 NAIA Region MVP’s, 2 NAIA All-Americans, 5 NAIA All-Conference Selections and 5 Junior College All Region Performers. He also has, 11 years of educational experience as both an Adjunct Professor and Classroom Teacher in History, Physical Education and Sports Management. Eric grew up in Saint Regis, Montana and attended Plains High School where he was a 4 year varsity lettermen in basketball and football. He earned all-conference honors in both sports (defensive end, tight-end and shooting guard) during his junior and senior years at Plains High School. He went on to play basketball for Eastern Montana College (Montana State University-Billings). Prior to joining Area Scouts, Eric was the Head of North American Basketball for InStat Basketball of division of InStat Sports from 2022-2023.!
